Abu Ghraib
The infamous photos of Abu Ghraib came to light in 2004. Now, four years later, we are still debating the ethics of torture, and are still apparently unable to really process the contents of the images we received from the American dungeons of Iraq.
Questions for artists
This new website is about the questions asked of artists: http://questions.onetwothree.net.
The submission of the artist to questioning is an unavoidable aspect of art practice. The interview, the artist talk, the grant application, the studio visit, the critique, etc. -- all occasions for interrogation. It seems that the very identity of the artist is constructed inside of that interrogative process.
